Terms of Use

The agreement between you and Epsilon Developers for WiFi Map: WiFi Unlocker. Please read it before using the App.

๐Ÿ“… Last updated: September 5, 2026 ๐Ÿ“ฑ Android v1.0.0+ โš–๏ธ Governed by Indian law

๐Ÿ“Œ The short version

  • You get a personal, non-exclusive licence to use the App. You do not own it and cannot resell, reverse-engineer or redistribute it.
  • Use the App only on networks you own or are authorised to use. Everything else is your responsibility, not ours.
  • The App cannot recover or crack WiFi passwords, and does not claim to. See ยง5.
  • Community map entries are contributed by users. Treat them as unverified, and only contribute networks you are entitled to share.
  • Purchases are one-time and non-consumable, processed by Google Play; refunds follow Google's process.
  • Measurements are best-effort diagnostics, not certified instrumentation.

1 Acceptance of These Terms

These Terms of Use ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and Epsilon Developers, an independent software publishing brand operated by Satyam Kushwaha and Anurag Mahajan ("we", "us", "our"), governing your use of the Android application WiFi Map: WiFi Unlocker (package com.epsilon.wifi_map) and this website (together, the "Service").

By downloading, installing, launching or using the App, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to these Terms, to the Privacy Policy, to the Acceptable Use Policy and โ€” if you contribute to the community map โ€” to the Community Guidelines. Those documents are incorporated into these Terms by reference.

If you do not agree, do not install or use the App.

Your use of the App is also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service. Where these Terms conflict with Google Play's terms in a way that would deprive you of a right Google grants you, Google's terms prevail to that extent.

2 Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the App, or older where your jurisdiction sets a higher minimum age for consenting to data processing โ€” 16 in several EEA member states and 18 in India under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the App only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian, who accepts these Terms on your behalf. The App is not designed for or directed at children and is not enrolled in Google Play's Designed for Families programme.

You must also have the legal capacity to enter into a contract, and you must not be barred from using the Service under any applicable law.

3 Licence Grant

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable licence to install and use one copy of the App on Android devices you own or control, for your own personal or internal business purposes.

3.1 What the licence does not include

You may not, and may not permit anyone else to:

  • copy, modify, translate or create derivative works of the App, except as permitted by the licences of its open-source components (see Open Source Licenses) or by a mandatory provision of law;
  • reverse-engineer, decompile or disassemble the App, or attempt to derive its source code, except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits this despite the restriction;
  • rent, lease, lend, sell, sublicense, distribute or otherwise transfer the App or your rights under this licence;
  • remove, obscure or alter any proprietary notice, branding or attribution;
  • republish, mirror or resell the community hotspot dataset, in whole or in substantial part, or use automated means to extract it (see ยง7);
  • use the App to build a competing product or dataset;
  • circumvent, disable or interfere with the advertising, entitlement, rate-limiting, request-signing or moderation mechanisms in the App or its backend.

All rights not expressly granted are reserved. This licence terminates automatically if you breach these Terms.

4 What the App Is

WiFi Map is a network diagnostic and discovery utility. It provides:

  • Scanning and analysis โ€” a live list of nearby networks, channel congestion analysis, a signal meter and a room-by-room signal heatmap.
  • Speed testing โ€” download, upload, latency and jitter measurement against public measurement endpoints.
  • Local network tools โ€” device discovery on your own subnet, latency and route tracing, DNS and public-IP information, and a shortcut that opens your router's own admin page in your browser.
  • Password utilities โ€” a generator for strong WPA2/WPA3 keys, a strength auditor, and an encrypted on-device vault for credentials you enter, generate or scan from Android's share-WiFi QR code.
  • A community hotspot map โ€” public and venue WiFi locations contributed by users, with voting, reporting and moderation.
  • Network Deep Scan โ€” a staged analysis producing a score and a ranked list of remediations.

5 What the App Is Not

This section is not boilerplate. It states, plainly, capabilities the App does not have, so there is no ambiguity about what you are agreeing to.

๐Ÿšซ

It is not a password cracker. The App contains no functionality to recover, guess, brute-force, dictionary-attack or otherwise defeat a WiFi passphrase, WPS PIN, or any other credential. No such feature exists, and none will be added.

๐Ÿšซ

It cannot read the passwords already saved on your device. Android provides no interface for this on a non-rooted device. The vault contains only credentials you personally typed, generated in the App, or imported by scanning Android's own share-WiFi QR code.

๐Ÿšซ

It is not a penetration-testing or intrusion tool. Router Access opens your gateway's web interface in a browser; it never attempts a login and ships no default-credential list. Device discovery and port checks operate on your own local network and are diagnostic, not offensive.

The word "Unlocker" in the App's name refers to unlocking access to public and community-shared WiFi โ€” venue passwords contributed by people entitled to share them, and QR codes you scan yourself. It does not refer to circumventing anyone's security, and must not be understood that way.

6 Your Responsibilities

You are solely responsible for how you use the App. In particular, you agree that:

  • You will use scanning, probing, discovery and diagnostic features only on networks and devices you own, administer, or have express permission to test.
  • You will obtain any authorisation required before probing, scanning or connecting to any network, host or device.
  • You will comply with all applicable laws, including โ€” for users in India โ€” the Information Technology Act, 2000 (notably sections 43 and 66, which make unauthorised access to a computer resource both a civil wrong and a criminal offence), and equivalents elsewhere such as the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act in the United States and the Computer Misuse Act 1990 in the United Kingdom.
  • You will comply with the terms of any network you connect to, including a venue's own acceptable use rules and any captive-portal terms.
  • You will keep your device secure, including a screen lock, since the vault's protection assumes the device itself is not in an attacker's hands.
  • You are responsible for any mobile data charges incurred, particularly by speed tests, which deliberately transfer a significant volume of data.
  • You will not rely on the App as the sole basis for a decision with safety, legal or financial consequences.
โš–๏ธ

Connecting to a network without authorisation is unlawful in most jurisdictions, regardless of whether the network is unsecured or its password was published somewhere. An entry appearing on the community map is not authorisation.

7 Prohibited Conduct

You must not use the App, or anything obtained through it, to:

  • gain or attempt to gain unauthorised access to any network, device, system, account or data;
  • intercept, capture, monitor or analyse traffic you are not authorised to observe;
  • disrupt, degrade, overload or interfere with any network or service, including through scanning volume;
  • circumvent authentication, access controls, captive portals, paid-access schemes or bandwidth limits;
  • share, publish or contribute a credential you are not entitled to share;
  • stalk, surveil, harass or locate any individual;
  • scrape, crawl, mirror, bulk-download or otherwise systematically extract the community hotspot dataset;
  • submit false, fabricated, spam or misleading contributions, or manipulate votes and reports;
  • tamper with the request-signing, install-identifier, rate-limiting or entitlement mechanisms, or use a modified client;
  • generate invalid advertising traffic, including automated, incentivised, or artificially repeated ad interactions;
  • use the App in any way that violates the law, infringes a third party's rights, or breaches the Acceptable Use Policy.

Breach of this section may result in immediate termination of your licence, blocking of your install from the community features, removal of your contributions, and โ€” where the conduct is unlawful โ€” referral to the appropriate authorities.

8 User Contributions

The community map is built from user-generated content. If you contribute, this section applies to you.

8.1 Your warranties

Each time you submit a hotspot, a passphrase, a vote, a report or a note, you represent and warrant that:

  • you have the legal right and the network owner's permission to share the information you are submitting;
  • the information is accurate to the best of your knowledge and is not fabricated;
  • the network is a venue, public or commercially-offered network โ€” not a private residence, and not someone's home network;
  • the submission contains no personal data about any other individual, no unlawful content, and nothing that infringes a third party's rights;
  • the submission complies with the Community Guidelines.

8.2 Licence you grant us

By submitting a contribution you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, sublicensable licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt, aggregate, publish and distribute that contribution as part of the Service, including in derived and aggregated form. You retain whatever rights you hold in the underlying content. This licence exists so we can operate the map; it is not a transfer of ownership.

8.3 Public by nature

Contributions are published to all users of the App. Do not submit anything you would not publish publicly. Your install identifier is not shown to other users, but the content of your contribution is.

8.4 No obligation to publish

We are under no obligation to publish, retain or restore any contribution. We may reject, edit, reclassify, hide or delete any submission at our discretion, with or without notice, including for reasons of legality, accuracy, safety or dataset quality.

8.5 Contributions are unverified

We do not independently verify contributions before publication and cannot guarantee that any entry is accurate, current, lawful, or that the venue in question still offers WiFi on the stated terms. Community entries are provided as user-reported information, not as an assurance of access.

9 Moderation & Enforcement

We operate ongoing moderation of user-generated content, as required by Google Play's User Generated Content policy and as a matter of running a usable dataset.

  • Every hotspot can be reported from inside the App, without leaving it. Reporting is available on every community entry.
  • New entries are held pending and become visible only after corroboration from distinct installs or manual approval.
  • Automated signals โ€” negative votes, report volume, staleness, and rate-limit violations โ€” flag entries for review and can suppress them automatically.
  • Manual review is applied to reported entries and to anything the automated layer flags.
  • Network owners can demand removal of an entry describing their network at any time, through the Network Owner Removal page. We honour these without requiring justification.
  • Enforcement against contributors escalates from removal of the offending entry, to suspension of contribution rights for an install, to a permanent block.

We aim to act on reports within 7 business days, and faster where a report alleges that a credential was shared without authorisation or that content is unlawful.

10 Accuracy of Measurements

The App reports what it measures and, where it cannot measure something, says so rather than inventing a value. You should still understand the limits:

  • Speed test results depend on your device, its radio, the access point, network congestion, the route to the measurement endpoint, and the endpoint itself. Throughput is reported as the 90th percentile of samples; jitter as the mean absolute difference between consecutive latency samples. Results will differ from your ISP's advertised rate and from other speed test tools, and neither is necessarily wrong.
  • "Failed requests", not "packet loss". True packet loss measurement requires infrastructure the App does not use. The App reports the ratio of failed HTTP requests and labels it as exactly that.
  • Latency tools are not ICMP. Android does not give unprivileged apps raw sockets. Ping and device discovery time TCP connections; a refused connection counts as a live host, because it is one.
  • Scan results are throttled by Android โ€” four foreground scans per two minutes, after which the OS silently returns cached data. The App surfaces this budget rather than hiding it.
  • Signal, heatmap and channel readings vary with orientation, obstruction and hardware, and are indicative rather than survey-grade.
  • Security scores and deep-scan findings are heuristic guidance, not a security audit or a certification.

Measurements are provided for informational and diagnostic purposes. They are not certified instrumentation and must not be used as evidence in a dispute with an internet service provider or anyone else without independent corroboration.

11 Advertising

The free version of the App is supported by advertising served through Google AdMob. By using the free version you agree to the display of advertising.

Our commitments about how advertising behaves โ€” which are enforced in code, not merely promised โ€” are that no core feature sits behind an advertisement; that rewarded advertising is always opt-in, states its reward before it plays, and offers an equally prominent decline; that no advertisement appears on a consent, disclosure, permission or purchase screen, or during an active measurement; and that no advertisement is shown on the back-press that exits the App.

We do not control the content of third-party advertisements and are not responsible for the products, services or claims they contain. Concerns about a specific advertisement can be reported to us and to Google.

Attempting to generate invalid advertising traffic โ€” automated clicks, incentivised interaction, emulator farms, or repeated artificial impressions โ€” is a breach of these Terms and may result in a permanent block.

12 Purchases & Refunds

The App offers two one-time, non-consumable in-app products: Remove Ads (wifimap_remove_ads) and Pro (wifimap_pro). There is no subscription and nothing renews automatically.

  • All purchases are processed by Google Play Billing under Google's terms. We are not the merchant of record and never receive your payment details.
  • Prices are set per country by Google and shown to you in your local currency, inclusive of any tax Google collects, before you confirm.
  • Entitlement is tied to the Google account that made the purchase and can be restored on any device signed in to that account.
  • Purchases remove advertising and unlock features; they do not create an account with us and give you no rights beyond this licence.
  • Refunds are handled through Google Play. Full details, including statutory withdrawal rights, are in the Purchase & Refund Policy.

We may change prices, discontinue a product or restructure what a product unlocks. A change of that kind will not remove an entitlement you have already bought.

13 Third-Party Services & Links

The App relies on third-party services described in the Privacy Policy, including Google AdMob, Google Play Billing, Google Maps, Firebase and Cloudflare. Your use of those services is subject to their own terms and privacy policies.

The App may open external destinations โ€” your router's admin interface, a venue's captive portal, a store listing, a policy page. We do not control those destinations, do not endorse them, and are not responsible for their content, security or practices.

Where a third-party service is unavailable, degraded or changes its behaviour, corresponding features of the App may stop working. We will degrade gracefully where we can, but we cannot guarantee the continued availability of anything we do not operate.

14 Availability & Changes to the Service

The App is provided on an "as available" basis. We may add, change, suspend, restrict or discontinue any feature โ€” including the community map, the backend API, or the App as a whole โ€” at any time, with or without notice.

We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation. Server-side components may be unavailable for maintenance, for capacity reasons, or because an upstream provider is down. Local features are designed to keep working without a network connection, and the App is intended to degrade to a documented state rather than break when a component is missing.

We may update the App through Google Play. Some updates are necessary for continued operation, for security, or for compliance with platform policy; if you decline them, parts of the Service may stop working.

15 Intellectual Property

The App, its source code, design system, interface, artwork, iconography, copy, and the "WiFi Map" and "Epsilon Developers" names and logos are owned by Epsilon Developers or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark and other laws. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of any of it to you.

The App incorporates open-source software used under its respective licences, which are reproduced on the Open Source Licenses page. Those licences govern those components and, where they conflict with this section for a given component, they prevail for that component.

Trademarks of others โ€” Android, Google Play, Google Maps, AdMob and Firebase are trademarks of Google LLC; Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Protected Access, WPA2, WPA3 and WPS are trademarks of the Wi-Fi Alliance; Cloudflare is a trademark of Cloudflare, Inc. They are used descriptively. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any of them.

If you believe content in the App or on this site infringes your intellectual property, see the notice procedure in the Legal Notice.

16 Feedback

If you send us suggestions, bug reports or ideas, you grant us an unrestricted, royalty-free, perpetual right to use them for any purpose without obligation, attribution or compensation. Please do not send us anything you consider confidential or that you are not free to share.

17 Privacy

Our handling of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms. In summary: there are no accounts, the great majority of what the App does happens entirely on your device, and data reaches our server only when you deliberately contribute to the community map.

18 Disclaimer of Warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express, implied or statutory, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, quiet enjoyment or non-infringement.

Without limiting that, we do not warrant that:

  • the App will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free;
  • measurements, scores, recommendations or diagnostics will be accurate, complete or suitable for any particular purpose;
  • community map entries are accurate, current, lawful, or that any listed network will be available or usable;
  • any defect will be corrected, or that the App is free of vulnerabilities;
  • the App will be compatible with any particular device, Android version, router or network configuration.
โš ๏ธ

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties. Where that is the case, the exclusions above apply only to the extent permitted, and you may have rights under consumer law that these Terms cannot take away. In India, nothing here limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

19 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Epsilon Developers, its operators, and anyone acting on their behalf shall not be liable for:

  • indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages;
  • loss of profit, revenue, goodwill, data, or anticipated savings;
  • loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service;
  • loss or damage arising from your reliance on a measurement, score, recommendation or community entry;
  • loss or damage arising from unauthorised access to, or alteration of, your device, network or data;
  • any act or omission of a third party, including a network operator, venue, advertiser, or another user of the App;
  • any consequence of your own unauthorised or unlawful use of the App.

Where liability cannot be excluded, our total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you actually paid us for in-app purchases in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) โ‚น1,000 (one thousand Indian Rupees).

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

20 Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Epsilon Developers and its operators from any claim, demand, loss, liability, cost or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or connected with:

  • your use or misuse of the Service;
  • your breach of these Terms, the Acceptable Use Policy or the Community Guidelines;
  • any contribution you submit, including a claim that it infringed a right or was shared without authorisation;
  • your violation of any law or of the rights of any third party.

21 Termination

You may terminate this agreement at any time by uninstalling the App.

We may suspend or terminate your licence, or block your install from server-side features, immediately and without notice if you breach these Terms, abuse the community dataset, generate invalid advertising traffic, or use the App unlawfully. Where the circumstances allow it we will tell you why, and you may contest a block by writing to us.

On termination: your licence ends and you must stop using the App; local data remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall; contributions already published may remain in the community dataset under the licence in ยง8.2, subject to your deletion rights; and sections 5, 7, 8.2, 15, 16, 18, 19, 20, 22 and 24 survive.

Termination does not entitle you to a refund of an in-app purchase where termination results from your breach.

22 Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Subject to the paragraph below, the courts at Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Service.

If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction whose law grants you the right to bring proceedings in your place of residence or to rely on mandatory local consumer protections, nothing in this section deprives you of that right or of those protections.

22.1 Talk to us first

Before commencing formal proceedings, please contact us at contact@epsilondevelopers.xyz with a description of the dispute. Most issues are resolved this way, and we commit to responding substantively within 30 days.

23 Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms. When we do, we update the "Last updated" date above. For material changes we will also give notice inside the App before they take effect.

Changes apply prospectively. Continuing to use the App after a change takes effect means you accept the revised Terms; if you do not accept them, stop using the App and uninstall it.

24 General

  • Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, Acceptable Use Policy, Community Guidelines, Purchase & Refund Policy and Legal Notice, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service, and supersede any prior understanding.
  • Severability. If any provision is held unenforceable, it is modified to the minimum extent necessary or severed, and the rest remains in force.
  • No waiver. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
  • Assignment. You may not assign these Terms. We may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition or transfer of the App, on notice to you.
  • No third-party beneficiaries, except that Google is an intended beneficiary of the provisions required by the Google Play Terms and may enforce them.
  • Force majeure. Neither party is liable for failure to perform caused by events beyond its reasonable control.
  • Language. The English text of these Terms governs; a translation is provided for convenience only.
  • Headings are for reference and do not affect interpretation.
