Six things, done properly
Every reading is measured. Where something cannot be measured, the app shows -- rather than making a number up.
Community WiFi map
Public and venue hotspots contributed by people who have actually been there β cafΓ©s, hotels, stations, malls, libraries. Moderated, votable, and removable on the owner's request.
Nearby now
Every network your phone can currently hear, live, with signal, band, channel and security. Works the moment you install, with nothing contributed and no connection.
Speed test
Download, upload, latency and jitter against Cloudflare's edge β the 90th percentile of a proper size ladder, not a flattering average. Falls over to our own endpoint when an ISP blocks the primary.
Channel analyzer
See what is crowding 2.4, 5 and 6 GHz around you, and which channel is actually free. The answer that stops the video buffering at 8pm.
Network Deep Scan
A staged analysis of the network you are on, ending in a real score out of 100 and a ranked list of fixes you can act on. Re-runnable β results change as conditions do.
Encrypted vault
Store the network credentials you already have β typed, generated, or scanned from Android's own share-WiFi QR code. AES-256 under a hardware-backed key, on your device only.
Twelve tools, no filler
Each one does a real job. None of them is a stub, and none is locked behind an ad.
Plus WiFi QR import and export, speed test history and trends, and a full local record of every scan and measurement you have run.
What this app will not do
Apps in this category routinely claim capabilities that are technically impossible. Here is where we stand, on the record.
It cannot crack a password
There is no feature that guesses, brute-forces or recovers a WiFi passphrase or WPS PIN. None will be added. Any app claiming otherwise is fabricating the result or requires root.
It cannot read your saved passwords
Android provides no interface for this on an unrooted device. The vault holds only what you typed, generated, or scanned from Android's own share-WiFi QR code.
It cannot connect you silently
Joining a network always ends in a system dialog Android controls and you confirm. If you decline it, nothing happens.
It reports what it measures
"Failed requests", not fake packet loss. Real 90th-percentile throughput. TCP-connect timing labelled as such, because Android gives apps no raw sockets. -- where there is no reading.
"Unlocker" means unlocking access to public and community-shared WiFi β venue passwords contributed by people entitled to share them. It does not mean defeating anyone's security. The boundary is set out in the Acceptable Use Policy.
Almost none of it leaves your phone
There is no account, so there is no profile. Most of what the app produces is written to your device and stays there.
No account, ever
No name, email, phone number or social login. We have never known who you are and there is nothing to breach.
On-device by default
Scans, network details, LAN device lists, heatmaps, deep-scan reports, history and the vault all live in the app's private sandbox and are never transmitted.
Location asked at the map
Requested when you open the Map tab, after an in-app disclosure β never at first launch. On Android 13+, scanning does not need it at all.
Minimised before it is sent
Contributed coordinates are rounded to 5 decimal places on your device. Full BSSIDs are rejected by our server outright β only the vendor prefix is kept.
Vault never uploads
AES-256-CTR with an HMAC-SHA256 tag, under a key held in Android's hardware-backed Keystore. Nothing in it is synced, backed up to us, or shared.
Delete it all, instantly
Settings β Privacy β Delete everything. For server-side records, send us your install ID and we delete them within 30 days.

Can it recover or crack a WiFi password?
No, and it never will. There is no such feature. Any app claiming to do this is either showing you a fabricated string or requires a rooted device. The name refers to unlocking access to public and community-shared WiFi, not to defeating security.
Can it show passwords already saved on my phone?
No β Android exposes no interface for that on an unrooted device. But Android's own Settings β WiFi β Share makes a QR code containing the password; scan that with the app's importer and it goes into your vault. That is the legitimate path, and it works.
Is it legal to use?
Scanning and diagnosing your own network is entirely legal, as is finding public WiFi. Connecting to a network without authorisation is not β anywhere. A network being visible, unsecured, or on our map is not permission. See the Acceptable Use Policy.
Do I need an account?
No. No sign-up, no email, no login. Nothing to delete, and no profile to leak.
Why does it ask for location?
On Android 13+, only for the map's "you are here" marker β scanning uses NEARBY_WIFI_DEVICES instead. On Android 12 and below, the OS returns no scan results at all without location permission. Either way it is never collected in the background. Details.
Why is the map empty where I live?
The community layer only has what people have contributed, and we deliberately ship no invented seed data β sending you to a cafΓ© that does not exist would be worse than showing nothing. The Nearby now layer works everywhere immediately.
Someone listed my network. How do I remove it?
Use the Network Owner Removal page. We act within 72 hours, we do not ask you to justify it, and the network is blocklisted so it cannot be re-added.
Why is my speed result different from other apps?
We report the 90th percentile of throughput samples rather than the mean, and jitter as the mean absolute difference between consecutive latency samples β what Cloudflare's own component measures. Different method, different number; neither is wrong.
Does it work offline?
Mostly. Scanning, channel analysis, signal metering, heatmaps, device discovery, the vault, generator and auditor all work with no connection. Speed test, map tiles and contribution uploads need one β contributions queue locally until they have it.
Are core features locked behind ads?
No. Rewarded ads gate additional depth only, always state the reward before playing, and always offer a decline at equal weight. If a rewarded ad fails to load, the unlock is granted anyway.
